Overview

About this course

This programme is for people who want to start something of their own and want a structured way to do it. Over four months you work through the real stages of starting up: finding a problem worth solving, testing whether people will pay, designing the business model, running a small pilot and preparing to launch.

The emphasis is on evidence over assumptions. Instead of writing a long plan first, you talk to potential customers, put a simple version of your offer in front of them and learn from the response. Case studies cover Indian ventures of different sizes — from a tiffin service or tuition centre to a craft brand or a local software business.

How the course runs

Classes are held live on Google Meet three evenings a week. Each module includes worksheets and a field task — customer interviews, a landing page, a pricing test or a pilot sale — that you carry out between classes and discuss in the next session.

  • Lean methods: customer discovery, the Business Model Canvas and minimum viable products (MVPs)
  • Money basics: costing, pricing, break-even, cash flow and funding options
  • Awareness of business structures, registrations and government schemes, ending with a pitch for feedback

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify business opportunities from everyday problems, trends and your own strengths
  • Validate an idea through customer interviews, surveys and simple low-cost experiments
  • Design a business model using the Business Model Canvas and a clear value proposition
  • Build and test a minimum viable product or pilot offer with real customers
  • Calculate costs, set prices and work out break-even and first-year cash flow
  • Choose a suitable business structure and understand common registrations such as Udyam and GST
  • Plan branding, marketing and sales to win your first customers
  • Present your venture in a clear, evidence-based pitch

Questions about this course

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about this course.

How long is the course, and when are the classes?

The course runs for four months, with live classes on Google Meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST — about 100 hours of live training, plus field tasks between classes. Classes are taught in English, with Hindi support where needed. The current batch dates and the last date to apply are shown on this page.

Do I need a business idea before I join?

You do not need a fixed idea — the first modules help you find and compare ideas, and changing direction after customer interviews is a normal part of the process. The course is hands-on throughout: you interview customers, test an MVP or pilot, work through the numbers and present an evidence-based pitch.

Will the course help me get a loan, grant or investment?

The course explains funding options — savings, bank loans, government schemes and investors — and how to prepare for them, but it does not arrange, recommend or guarantee any loan, subsidy or investment. Eligibility and approval for schemes such as PMEGP or MUDRA are decided by the banks and agencies concerned.

What if I miss a class?

Worksheets, class notes and field-task briefs are shared with enrolled learners, so you can catch up on what was covered and bring your questions to the next class. Attendance is recorded for every session, and you need at least 75% attendance across the sessions held to be eligible for the certificate.

What does the fee cover, and how do I pay?

The total fee shown on this page is for the full four-month programme and covers all live sessions, assessments and the certificate. After you apply, you can pay using the payment options listed on the Fees page; please read that page and the Refund and Cancellation Policy before paying.

What certificate will I receive?

Learners who meet the attendance requirement and score at least 50% overall, including the minimum mark in the capstone venture pitch, receive the Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Appsgain Technologies with a marksheet, after review and approval. Anyone can verify it online using the certificate number or QR code. It is a skill-training certificate, not a degree, licence, business registration or guarantee of funding or income.
