Overview

About this course

Every transaction a customer makes passes through a chain of operational steps — verification, posting, authorisation, reconciliation and record-keeping. This five-month course teaches those steps the way they are followed in Indian bank branches and centralised processing centres, from opening an account to closing a loan.

You will work through simulated core banking workflows, process checklists and case files built on everyday situations: a returned cheque, an RTGS credited to the wrong account, a deceased depositor's claim, an unreconciled ATM entry. The focus throughout is on accuracy, maker–checker discipline and compliance.

How the course runs

Classes are held live on Google Meet from Monday to Friday in the evening, in 75-minute sessions that fit around work or college. Most sessions include a hands-on exercise, and the course ends with a simulated branch day in which you handle a series of operations tasks.

  • Branch roles, core banking concepts and maker–checker controls
  • Account opening, KYC, cash, clearing and remittances
  • Deposit servicing, loan documentation and reconciliation
  • Fraud prevention, audit readiness and Excel-based MIS

Please note: this is a skill-development course. It does not give access to any live bank system, it is not coaching for bank recruitment exams, and it is not a certification issued or recognised by the RBI, IIBF or any other regulator or bank.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Explain how a core banking system records customers, accounts and transactions under maker–checker control
  • Complete account opening and KYC checks for individuals, joint holders, minors and business entities
  • Follow standard procedures for cash receipts and payments, record denominations and recognise counterfeit notes
  • Process and track cheque clearing, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS and demand draft transactions, including returns
  • Service deposits — FD and RD booking, renewal, premature closure, TDS, nomination and claim settlement
  • Prepare loan documentation and disbursement checklists and track EMIs and NACH mandates
  • Reconcile suspense, ATM and UPI entries and build daily MIS reports in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Identify operational risks and fraud patterns and keep records ready for internal and concurrent audit

Questions about this course

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about this course.

What are the class timings, and why are the sessions only 75 minutes long?

Classes run Monday to Friday, 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM IST, live on Google Meet, for 5 months (about 124 hours). Short daily sessions suit process learning: you practise a procedure one day and build on it the next, and the timing fits around a day job or college.

Will I work on a real core banking system?

No live bank system is used. Core banking concepts — customer IDs, ledgers, transaction posting and maker–checker authorisation — are taught through simulated workflows, sample forms and spreadsheets, with widely used platforms discussed as examples. You learn the logic that carries over from one bank's software to another's.

Do I need prior banking experience?

No. Attention to detail and comfort with numbers matter more than experience. Classes are taught in English, with Hindi support where needed. A laptop or desktop is strongly recommended for the reconciliation and MIS exercises.

What if I miss a session?

Notes and practice files are shared with the batch so you can catch up, and you can bring your questions to the next class. A minimum of 75% attendance is required for the certificate, so try to keep missed sessions to a minimum.

What is the fee, and how do I pay?

The total fee shown on this page is for the full 5-month programme, including all live sessions, assessments and the certificate. Payment options and any applicable taxes are explained on the Fees page, and refunds follow our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Is the certificate recognised by the RBI or IIBF, and will it get me a bank job?

The certificate is issued by Appsgain Technologies when you complete this skill course and pass its assessments, and it can be verified online with its number or QR code. It is not issued or recognised by the RBI, IIBF or any bank, and it is not a recruitment exam qualification. The course builds process skills used in operations roles, but there is no job or placement guarantee.
