Overview

About this course

Good communication is less about difficult vocabulary and more about being clear, organised and confident. This course builds those habits step by step: listening properly, structuring what you want to say, speaking with a steady voice, writing emails and short reports that get a response, and presenting ideas to a group. Examples come from everyday Indian settings — college presentations, team calls, client emails, status updates to a manager on WhatsApp and conversations with customers.

How the course runs

Classes are held live on Google Meet three evenings a week. Each session combines a short concept, a demonstration and practice in pairs or small groups, followed by feedback from the trainer. Every week you complete one speaking or writing task, and the course ends with a final presentation and a portfolio of your best written work.

  • Active listening, questioning and structured speaking with simple frameworks such as PREP
  • Professional emails, meeting minutes, short reports and workplace messages
  • Presentations with clear slides, storytelling and confident handling of questions
  • Meetings, video calls, feedback and difficult conversations

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Listen actively and summarise accurately what others have said
  • Structure spoken answers and updates with simple frameworks such as PREP (Point, Reason, Example, Point)
  • Speak with a clear voice, steady pace, useful pauses and confident body language
  • Write concise, error-free professional emails, meeting minutes and short reports
  • Plan and deliver a 5–7 minute presentation with simple, readable slides
  • Contribute in meetings and video calls, disagree politely and follow up in writing
  • Give and receive feedback and handle difficult conversations calmly
  • Adapt your tone for managers, colleagues, customers and different audiences

Questions about this course

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about this course.

How long is the course and when are the classes?

The course runs for 1 month with live classes on Google Meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST — about 76 hours of live training in all. The current batch dates are shown on this page, and the detailed timetable is published before the batch begins.

Do I need to be fluent in English to join?

No. You need basic reading and writing ability in English. The course focuses on clarity, structure and confidence rather than advanced vocabulary. Classes are conducted in English, with Hindi support where needed. If your main goal is everyday spoken fluency and grammar, the Certificate in Spoken English is a better fit.

What happens if I miss a class?

Try to attend every class, because most of the learning happens through live practice and feedback. If you miss a session, go through the notes and learning materials shared on your Check Application Status page and complete that week's practice task. At least 75% attendance is required to be eligible for the certificate.

What do I need for the classes?

A laptop or smartphone with a working camera and microphone, earphones and a stable internet connection. A laptop is more comfortable for the writing and presentation modules. You will practise with free tools such as Gmail, Google Docs and Google Slides (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint work equally well if you already use them).

What is the fee and how do I pay?

The total course fee shown on this page is for the full 3-month programme, covering all live sessions, assessments and the certificate. After you apply, you can pay using the payment options listed on the Fees page. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for when a refund is possible.

What certificate will I receive?

After you meet the 75% attendance requirement and score at least 50% overall in the assessments, including the minimum mark in the final presentation, you receive the Certificate in Communication Skills from Appsgain Technologies with a marksheet, after review and approval. Anyone can verify it online with its certificate number or QR code. It is a skill-training certificate, not a government licence, academic degree or guarantee of employment.
