Overview

About this course

Technical knowledge gets you started, but how you work with people often decides how far you go. This course covers the everyday soft skills that matter in offices, shops, banks, call centres, hospitals and start-ups: working in a team, understanding your own and others' emotions, solving problems logically, managing your time and tasks, serving customers well, adapting to change and taking the lead when needed. Each topic is taught through Indian workplace case studies — a missed deadline, a difficult customer, a disagreement in a team, a new software rollout.

How the course runs

Classes are held live on Google Meet three evenings a week. Sessions use short concept inputs followed by case discussions, role-plays and group exercises. In the second half of the course you work in a small team on a group project — analysing a realistic workplace problem and presenting a solution — so you practise the skills while you learn them.

  • Teamwork, collaboration and professional conduct
  • Emotional intelligence, conflict handling and customer orientation
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making
  • Time and task management, adaptability and leadership basics

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Work effectively in a team, share responsibilities fairly and give credit to others
  • Recognise and manage your emotions and respond to others with empathy
  • Analyse workplace problems with simple tools such as 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams, and propose practical solutions
  • Prioritise tasks, plan your day and meet deadlines using to-do lists, calendars and simple task boards
  • Handle customer queries and complaints politely and professionally
  • Resolve disagreements with colleagues constructively
  • Adapt to change, learn new tools quickly and take ownership of your work
  • Lead a small team activity, delegate tasks and run a short meeting

Questions about this course

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about this course.

What are soft skills, and how can they be taught online?

Soft skills are the personal and interpersonal skills you use at work — teamwork, problem solving, managing time, handling customers and resolving conflict. In this course they are taught through live case discussions, role-plays, small-group activities and a team project on Google Meet, so you practise each skill instead of only reading about it.

What are the class timings and duration?

The course runs for 3 months with live classes on Google Meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST — about 76 hours in total. The evening timing lets working learners attend after office hours. The current batch dates are shown on this page.

I am already working. Is this course still useful?

Yes. Topics such as prioritising work, handling difficult customers, resolving team conflicts and leading small teams are often most useful once you have real workplace situations to apply them to. You can bring examples from your own job to case discussions, leaving out any confidential details.

What if I miss a class?

Attend as many classes as you can, because role-plays and group work happen live; at least 75% attendance is required for the certificate. If you miss a class, go through the notes and learning materials on your Check Application Status page and catch up with your project group.

What is the fee, and how do I pay?

The total fee shown on this page is for the full 3-month programme, covering all live sessions, assessments and the certificate. After you apply, you can pay using the payment options listed on the Fees page. Refunds are handled as described in the published Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Does the certificate guarantee a job or promotion?

No. After meeting the attendance requirement and passing the assessments (at least 50% overall, including the minimum mark in the group project), you receive the Certificate in Soft Skills Training from Appsgain Technologies with a marksheet, after review and approval. It can be verified online with its certificate number or QR code. It shows the training you have completed; it is not a guarantee of employment or promotion.
